Introduce yourself!

Nadine! Welcome, welcome to The LX! As it turns out, Canada’s maritime provinces been top of mind on my end over the last week or so, after having read an article about the new 435-mile “Island Walk” on Prince Edward Island. Have you been?

Minna! Welcome to The LX! We are aligned with similar approaches to life and business, per your 3 guiding principles - collaboration, creativity, commitment. And I think that “sisu” is an absolutely beautiful (and understandably treasured) Finnish word. Thank you for sharing it! Looking forward to our continued dialogue - on the forum and beyond!

Hi Alex. I’ve visited the island many times… definitely a treasure and that new walking path looks amazing.

Hi Alex:

I am very interested in the community we both serve. Keep up the good work.

Hi @minna ,
What a fabulous position you hold! Your approach is using the 3C’s especially intrigues me, in particular, the creativity exercises! The exercises provide, as you mention, ways to connect introspectively- feel inspired, calm, energetic and reflective. How is it we often neglect these areas of our humanity in the academic and business worlds? Most days hold for us mainly busyness and not reflection. We do intentionally need to build in pause times to provide our nervous system to take a break. Breathing types of practices additionally provide for the body and mind to gain some time for thinking, for more responsive moments rather than mindless reactions. I’m grateful for learning the meaning of Sisu! Than you!

Welcome to The LX, Vidal! How exciting to work at Tesla! We are delighted that you are here. A favorite book that I’ve devoured in the last few weeks: “The Silo Effect” by Dr. Gillian Tett. From the anthropological framing with Bourdieu and Levi-Strass, through to the case studies on Sony and Facebook, the book was absolutely fascinating and I cannot recommend it more highly.

Hi Alex from NYC - thanks for the message. I’ve never been to the Shaw Festival, but we go to the Niagara region every other year - partially to get the best butter-tarts ever, in Niagara-on-the-Lake. Yes, Canadians will drive 2 hours for dessert!

Malcolm - oh please share the name of the butter-tarts spot! If it’s worth a 2 hour drive, I’ll be sure to make that a must-visit on my next trip to the Festival! I’ve a soft spot for Nina Gelateria’s crepes on Queen Street. Also, and of course, all of the ice wineries in the area…but particularly Inniskillin (beyond the fact that I love their product, it also happens to be where my wife and I got engaged!

Hello from beautiful Missouri from a Marylander/Floridian/Texan. I’m Kathleen Ouellette, a curiosity builder who is currently a (dare I say this) “Transitioning Teacher.” That means, I am not attached to any organization or company at this time, but I desperately want to be a part of company that would value my experience, talents and skills, and offer an opportunity for my voice to matter.

My main love is working with people and teams to help identify areas that need improvement and then collaborate to implement improvements as efficiently as possible. I want to bring my love for education into my current training in UXDesign and LXD. Post these classes, I hope to pursue my PMP certification.

I love my family, photography, singing, sewing, and baking. Fun fact - I have six beautiful children!

It’s nice to meet you!
