We're Entering the Age of AI BS

“Maybe AI will kill us all. Maybe it will steal our jobs. Maybe it will be awesome and improve our lives beyond our imaginations. Or, perhaps, this is all hype, and it’s doomed to go the way of the metaverse…”

Metaverse…ouch!

I remember when PC’s were going to take the place of teachers and marketing specialists so this newest technology will disrupt existing workflows and processes but the path forward isn’t clear so (in my mind) the opportunity to jump in and be a part of the “new” movement is still open for all. If it all comes crashing down we can gather on an island in Second Life… :slight_smile:

For “we” interested in the experience I see an alignment of guided and focused questioning to obtain the desired results with the new platforms so “we” already have a step forward in use and creation. Let’s go ask more questions!

Hi Joe,
@MilwJoe
LOVE your provocative title!
And from linked article this quote: “Nvidia’s little AI Woodstock event — a four-day AI conference held in an arena in San Jose, California — hoping to get some hiring halo effect from merely being in the chipmaker’s presence.”
I guess you had to be there at the AI Woodstock conference for the full experience.

GAI- generative AI is being used as it’s being developed in whatever form it is at the present time- translated, coded, interpreted… all inclusive terms and others might apply here- it would seem.

Maybe it’s even beyond what the human mind can conceptualize at this present time. I back that up with we had no idea what a home PC look like, or how it would be used at all, in the early days of computer technology. Looking at the history of the Internet and the PC suggests we have yet to see how AI will transform learning environments but we are seeing visible hints of integration into applications. The integration of AI in to Microsoft suites and Google, browsers and specific types of application uses where it is embedded for example Canva free AI Image Generator

I first read your sentence with the word experiment in place of experience! I believe all of us who have had the AI experience are actually in the great AI experiment!

Love it @Roxann . It was Ralph Waldo Emerson who stated, “All life is an experiment. The more experiments you make, the better.

Let’s keep in mind we should embrace life’s uncertainties and learn from our experiences, treating each moment as an opportunity for growth, curiosity, and discovery.
